At the 2015 Pittwater Australia Day Awards the Mayor Jacque Townsend announced that the Pittwater Citizen of the Year is awarded to Michael Mannington, founder of Volunteer Photography. Michael has spent countless hours providing free professional photography services to local charities, community and sporting groups. Michael also played a pivotal role in the successful community campaign to return Currawong to public ownership and is also an active member of Avalon Computer Pals. From the Newport Residents Association point of view Michael is the man who donated his time and skills to set up the new NRA web site for which we are extremely grateful. As can be seen from the above Michael contributes hugely to the Pittwater community in many facets.
